Open all year, slow camping immersed in nature within the foothills of the Italian Apennines, 30 minutes from mountain or sea. Tents only (or small, groovy, campervans by appointment), and with strictly limited numbers, even in high season you can escape the crowds. If you don’t want to travel with all the kit, or if you’re new to camping, we have everything you could ever need here: cooking pots and pans, plates, cutlery, camping stoves… If we haven’t got it, we can probably find it! We even have a selection of tents available for hire at only €1 per night.
With our chilled outlook, stunning location, and all these added extras, Kokopelli Camping is so very much more than just camping.
Self Catering Options
For a slightly more comfortable camping experience, we have fully equipped, glamping-style, canvas tents for hire. These are ready erected and supplied with beds, rugs, lamps, bed linen and towels.
If camping really isn’t your thing, or you want to come when the weather’s more cool, we have an en-suite, double room in our farmhouse at the campsite and, a short distance away, we also have a restored town house in the historic centre of the village.
With our passion for sharing our knowledge of the hiking, biking, climbing, running and exploring off the beaten track, anyone who stays with us will quickly find their way around and get to know the hidden heart of Abruzzo.
From 17 – 23 June 2019 we’re hosting a “Slowing the Pace” yoga retreat designed to help you take a step back from your daily life, to breathe deeply, and to just be still and be present. We’ll be waking up to daily yoga and meditation. We’ll be mindfully walking under the forest canopy of the Alento River, whilst experiencing shinrin yoku (Japanese Forest Bathing). The summer solstice will be spent with tribal music around a campfire on a hill top under the stars, and we’ll be hiking in the protected wilderness of the Majella National Park. Places are limited and you can find more information here.
